Principal's Message

Throughout the year we place a great deal of emphasis on each student embracing what it means to embody Brookpark PRIDE. While we realize that students should be held accountable for their actions, we also believe in reinforcing what's right and learning from our mistakes. Our goal is that each and every student will be recognized for doing something positive throughout this school year.

In the classroom, our teachers are reinforcing what it means to learn. While our students may not always have a correct answer the first time, we want to encourage them to embrace the growth mindset and believe in the process that leads to understanding. As a result, the amount of homework a student may have will vary depending on what they have accomplished in a given class. I believe in leaving the amount of outside of classwork/homework determination to my teacher experts and their ability to gauge your students grasp of classroom concepts.

It is my hope that you have found Brookpark Middle School to be positive and encouraging for your child. If it has not been, please feel free to contact me or my assistant principal On the other hand, if you feel that a staff member has done something that deserves recognition, I encourage you to recognize them through the School Bell Award program.

As always, I look forward to working with you throughout the year. As an educator, a resident, and a parent in the Southwestern City School district I believe in all that we have to offer.
