College Credit Plus Information:

If you are interested in participating in College Credit Plus, we first need an "Intent to Participate" form signed and return it to Mrs. Hambleton by April 1st. The form is available here: Intent to Participate. If you're interested in learning more about the program, here is a video link here: SWCSD Accelerated Learning Center. A checklist for applying has also been provided CSCC CCP Checklist.

Second, we need to be sure your student is enrolled in either the College Career Readiness course for high school (CT-0500) or the CSCC College Success Skills course (COLS 1101).

Third, your student needs to apply to Columbus State. We will host application opportunities at Brookpark on Monday, March 20, from 5pm - 7pm, or Tuesday, March 21, from 8am - 9am.   If those dates don’t work for you, you can apply on your own. Just go to www.cscc.edu. Press the "Apply to Columbus State" button on the lower right part of the page. Then select "College Credit Plus" on the next page. Applications will need a student's Social Security Number, along with other basic residence and educational information. After applying, students will receive a Cougar ID number - please share this Cougar ID with Mrs. Hambleton. You will want to keep this information for further correspondence with Columbus State.

After you apply, please complete the Letter of Agreement/Consent to Register form and return it to Mrs. Hambleton by April 1st.

Fourth, your student will need to take a placement during school on May 15th. A student information guide is available here:CSCC Placement Test student information Regardless of how the student does on the test, they can take the College Career Readiness class in high school. However, in order to receive CSCC college credit, they need to score at a certain level on this test to be deemed "college ready". We will test students at school, during the day, in May. More information about this test will come as the time gets closer.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hambleton (614) 801-3500.
