College Credit Plus Information:

If you are interested in participating in College Credit Plus, we first need an "Intent to Participate" form signed and turned into Mrs. Hambleton. The form is available here:

Intent to Participate Form

Second, we need to be sure your 8th Grade student is enrolled in either the College Career Readiness course for high school (CT-0500) or the CSCC College Success Skills course (COLS 1101). This applies only to students who will be in 9th grade for the 2018-2019 year.

Third, your student needs to apply to Columbus State. We will host application opportunities at Brookpark on Thursday, February 22, from 6pm - 8pm, or Friday, February 23, from 8am - 9am.

If those dates don’t work for you, you can apply on your own. Just go to www.cscc.edu. Press the "Apply" button on the top of the page. Then select "College Credit Plus" on the next page. Applications will need a student's Social Security Number, along with other basic residence and educational information. After applying, students will receive a Cougar ID number - please give this Cougar ID to Mrs. Hambleton. You will want to keep this information for further correspondence with Columbus State.

Fourth, your student will need to take a placement test. Regardless of how the student does on the test, they can take the College Career Readiness class in high school. However, in order to receive CSCC college credit, they need to score at a certain level on this test to be deemed "college ready". We will offer the Accuplacer placement test to students at school on Thursday, March 8th at 9:00.
